"A revolutionary new concept that greatly exceeds current
and proposed burnthrough requirements, eliminates moisture
retention, provides better acoustic technology and thermal
stability, and does not increase weight, the Flight Environments
Frame Barrier System is the most advanced application of insulation
technology available today."
In
addition to providing better acoustic performance than insulation
traditionally installed in airline-configured aircraft, the
Flight Environments Frame Barrier System provides a
substantial improvement in burnthrough protection beyond
any material being used today.
The
materials used in the Frame Barrier System have been
designed and manufactured to withstand 2800°F for more than
20 minutes, without any burnthrough and with little
or no smoke or toxic fumes.
The Flight Environemnts Frame Barrier System also eliminates
moisture retention. By removing the traditional bagged insulation
and applying the Frame Barrier System, moisture is
allowed to transfer to the belly of the aircraft and drained
as originally designed. By eliminating moisture retention,
weight is reduced, thus reducing operating costs. And since
moisture is the leading cause of corrosion, the corrosion
problem is greatly reduced.
Additionally,
the system provides a remarkably stable thermal environment
to enhance passenger comfort.
The
Flight Environments Frame Barrier System is designed
to accommodate any cabin configuration and the modular blankets
can be easily removed (and replaced) for inspection purposes
during maintenance.
It's
also important to note that the system weighs no more than the traditional
insulation packages currently in use.
