Environments ships acoustic insulation system for Boeing’s company-owned
BBJ.
Columbia, SC (March
1, 2001) -- Officials with
Flight Environments, Inc. (FEI) today announced the shipment of an
acoustic insulation system that was custom designed for Boeing’s second
company-owned Boeing Business Jet (BBJ). The system will be shipped
immediately from FEI’s manufacturing facility in Paso Robles, California
to Basel, Switzerland, where it will be installed. Flight Environments was
awarded the contract in October by Jet Aviation, which is installing the
airplane’s interior. The Boeing Corporate Jet is scheduled for
completion in fall of this year.
“A quiet and lightweight cabin were two of
the key requirements we incorporated into our contract with Jet
Aviation,” said Tom Lindberg, chief operating officer at Boeing Business
Jets. “The package provided by Flight Environments is expected to meet
both of those requirements and thereby contribute to the business
productivity of this airplane.”
Flight Environments’ state-of-the-art acoustic
insulation systems use the most advanced technologies and lightweight
materials to provide maximum thermal stability and eliminate moisture
absorption while drastically reducing interior cabin noise.
FEI systems also dramatically improves burn-through protection
against fire, and will not emit any toxic smoke or fumes from it’s
materials
“Flight Environments is extremely proud and excited
to have its product incorporated into Boeing’s company-owned BBJ and to
be a part of the Boeing Business Jet program,” said FEI President and
CEO Eamon Halpin. “It is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our
capability to provide the latest technology in customized thermal and
acoustic systems in a hand-in-glove relationship with Boeing Business
Jets.”
Flight Environment uses a repertoire of 85
combinations of sound-dampening materials to develop its custom-tailored
sound solutions. In addition to sound reduction, Flight Environment’s
materials provide a water vapor barrier and thermal insulation, helping to
prolong the life of cabin materials while maintaining a comfortable cabin
temperature. FEI systems and materials meet or exceed the Federal Aviation
Association’s (FAA) proposed “Improved Flammability Standards” and
comply with AD-2000-11-02 and FAA’s newest NPRM.
FEI is headquartered in Columbia, SC with a
manufacturing facility in Paso Robles, California and a new European
office in Belgium.
